Hanging More Bat Houses

Past event
Jun 2, 2018, 10 AM to 2 PM

The first set of four bat houses were sited and installed on hemlock poles at Nelson Duba Field on May 19, 2018. The next installation will be on Saturday, June 2nd in the town-owned green space on Wescom Road and at the Beard Recreation Park. Starting at the Wescom Road site at 10 AM the Johnson Conservation Commission will install three large and one small bat house. If all goes well by 11:30 AM the JCC team will move to the Beard Recreation Park to place four bat houses on that site. Volunteers are welcome to join the team. Commissioners are planning a pot luck lunch for all who join the team. Check the Johnson Conservation Commission Facebook page to view the installation process at the Nelson Duba Field. This bat house project has utilized a 2017 Tiny Grant award through the Vermont Conservation Commission Fund of the Vermont Community Foundation.
