The numbers above are not play call signals for the Super Bowl. Rather, they refer to the many numbers that will make up much of this coming Thursday night’s Ward 6 NPA meeting at the Greek Orthodox Church at 7PM.

Below are the numbers accompanied with the issues to be discussed at the meeting. We hope you join us at this super important meeting. There will be lots of time for questions and we encourage you to e-mail any to any of the steering committee members. Please indicate if you would like the questions to be anonymous.

2- The candidates for the election on March 4, 2013 who will discuss their candidacies- incumbent Karen Paul for City Council and Stephanie Seguino for School Commissioner.

7- The number of items that will be on the March 4 ballot in addition to the candidate vote. Details are at http://burlingtonvt.gov/CT/Elections/

$9.6 million The amount of TIF money that the voters will be asked to approve for the waterfront projects- CEDO's Nate Wildfire and Mayor Weinberger will discuss.

$12 million. The amount Burlington Electric is seeking in revenue bonds in order to purchase a hydroelectric power plant on the Winooski River- Burlington Electric's General Manager Barbara Grimes will present.

4.86%- the increase in taxes the City is proposing- Mayor Weinberger will discuss.

10% - the increase in taxes the School District is requesting subject to other funding - School Commissioner Alan Matson will discuss.

8.26% - since the City and the School District’s increases are calculated on a different number this is the combined tax increase- all accountants and actuaries are welcome to the meeting to explain this one.

8-4-12- The redistricting plan is up for a vote. Specific information and the applicable map (as of 1/30/14 the map on the Election website was incorrect)

Please let us know if you live in Ward 6 and are interested in making some brief remarks in support of 8-4-12.

4 -The number of upcoming vacancies on the Ward 6 NPA Steering Committee – volunteer to keep these great meetings going by contacting any of the existing steering committee members.

The meeting takes place at the Greek Orthodox Church off of Ledge Road.
