The emerald ash borer, an invasive insect that has killed millions of ash trees in over 30 states and 3 Canadian provinces, has finally been confirmed in Vermont. With infestations in Washington, Orange, and Caledonia counties, the state is counting on YOU to be on the lookout for this insect and help limit its spread. Join Forest Pest Education Coordinator, Meredith Whitney, at the Moretown School for an engaging workshop where you will identify the emerald ash borer and ash trees, recognize the signs and symptoms of the insect, and know the protocol for reporting it when/if you should find one. Meredith will also share updates on the current infestations and delineation survey work that the state has been doing to look for this sneaky pest.
