Commoners Chat at Howden Hall: Renewal of Mt Abe HVAC?

Past event
Apr 23, 2018, 4:30 to 5:30 PM

Greetings Five-Town Community Members and MT Abe Supporters!

A group of six attendees gathered at the end of the March 31st Five-Town Community Forum #2 to talk about how best to address the pressing heating and ventilation (HVAC) issues with the existing system at MT Abe. We agreed there are significant issues with the existing system that must be addressed. But how? One way might be to systematically assess, upgrade, and monitor the existing system.

We also agreed to meet on Monday, April 23rd from 4:30pm - 5:45pm at Howden Hall Community Center on Main Street in Bristol to imagine some of the elements of an optimal way forward. Please join us for this informal conversation of commoners!!!

Our intention during this brief meeting is to try to answer two key questions related to the existing heating and ventilation (HVAC) systems at Mt. Abe. All ideas will be welcomed and recorded using a relaxed, lively-yet-facilitated, community engagement process. After brief introductions of attendees and the MT Abe HVAC topic (hopefully) by Bob Patterson and Kevin Hanson, we will seek input on these two questions:

1. What educational, ecological, economic, local business & contractors, energy efficiency, and other five-town community benefits should we seek to optimize while correcting the long-standing issues with the heating and ventilation systems (HVAC) at MT Abe?

2. What actions, policies, and methods will help us to optimize the benefits we seek to accomplish, build consensus, actively engage students to the maximum practical extent, prioritize actions, determine costs, keep money circulating in the local community, secure funding, minimize long-term debt, and inform, communicate, engage, and cooperate with the Five-Town Community on an HVAC renewal at MT Abe?
