On Monday, April 9 at 6:30 pm, the Unitarian Church of Montpelier will show a 2002 film which tells the story of a wealthy, suburban housewife whose seemingly perfect life begins to fall apart. The movie explores race, gender roles, sexual orientation and class in the context of 1950s America. (Legal restrictions prohibit listing the film's title, director, and actors in certain modes of promotion.) All are welcome. Refreshments will be served and there will be a discussion afterwards. The showing is sponsored by the church's Welcoming Congregation Committee which works to help the church and the greater community become more welcoming to individuals who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.
