Planting Hope Cultural Exchange Service Trip

Dreaming of warmer days and being outside?   Planting Hope's Multi-Generational Service Adventure Trip is currently seeking volunteers of all ages to travel to Nicaragua from April 19-29th.  Planting Hope is a Montpelier-based non-profit organization carrying out educational projects and cultural exchanges since 2002.

A highlight of this particular trip is the way that children, families, teenagers, adults and seniors all come together to form their own community of volunteers. And how they create a bigger community with our Nicaraguan staff, students, and families.  We’ll have some pre-trip meetings to go over basic Spanish and some cultural awareness and to plan our service activities with children.  Spanish is useful but not required for the trip.  See photos of the communities we'll visit and learn more about Planting Hope at www.plantinghope.org.   We have a group reservation for flights at $800 per person from Burlington airport.  Planting Hope's trip fee covers all in-country transportation, accommodations with Nicaraguan homestay families, hotel costs on a two day trip outside of San Ramon, all meals and special activities.  Fees are: $1100 for unaccompanied teenagers and $950 for adults and a sliding discount for families.  We need a minimum of 10 people to do the trip, with a maximum of about 16.

Please forward this email to anyone who you feel might be interested in this trip.  Please feel free to contact trip leader, Liza Earle at letsgoflyakite@yahoo.com or Planting Hope Director, Beth Merrill, at Beth@plantinghope.org   For more information on this trip or to sign up visit:  http://plantinghope.org/?page_id=882
