Beginning Thursday, March 22, this eight-week class is for anyone who has ever wanted to play the five-string banjo. We'll cover all the important elements of bluegrass style three finger banjo. We'll learn these skills by playing some famous bluegrass and folk songs that everyone knows. By the end of the eight weeks everyone should be able to play a few songs or tunes. Absolutely no musical experience or background is needed to participate. This class emphasizes the practical aspects of playing, with hardly any attention to music theory. Everyone will be playing at the first session of the class, and by the end of the eight weeks everyone should have sufficient knowledge and skills to keep advancing and improving their playing.
