The Champlain Philharmonic returns to Green Mountain College in Poultney on Sat, March 24, 7:30 pm and Town Hall Theater in Middlebury on Sun, March 25, 4:00 pm to present their spring concert, "Lion and Lamb", featuring an array of 19th Century works filled with drama and passion, delicate gestures, and familiar melodies. Under the direction of Matt LaRocca, the program will include Schubert's Symphony No. 8 in B Minor (The Unfinished Symphony) and Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, as well as Verdi's Overture to La Forza Del Destino and Sibelius' Spring Song.
Tickets are available at the door or at www.champlainphilharmonic.org for both performances for $15 general admission, $12 seniors, and $5 students.
The Champlain Philharmonic is a community orchestra that performs regularly in the Middlebury and Rutland regions of Vermont and includes past & present Shrewsbury residents Kristi Bragg, Mary Barron, and Roxanne Ramah. This is the orchestra's 14th performance season.
