• How do Vermont children connect with the place they live?
• What are the benefits of fostering a relationship with the local landscape?
• What does the research show about teaching and learning outside?
Antioch University professor David Sobel and Guilford public school teacher Jen Kramer will share their research and stories about the benefits to children of time spent outdoors, as well as inspirational stories from classrooms from across the country.
Learn how to:
• Help students connect with local natural and cultural resources
• Develop good practices based on other Vermont elementary schools
• Weave a place-based education model into your science, math and literacy curriculum
