Huusd Redesign Q&A March 14

Past event
Mar 14, 2018

How can we have healthy class sizes to improve quality but also allow us to plan more predictably and save money? Do we need to combine grades that are currently in different buildings? What are the implications of closing a school? Can we take advantage of efficiencies or cohort grouping to support more opportunities in and out of the classroom? What are the key drivers to providing excellent education and lowering costs? These are the questions of school redesign.

The HUUSD board has already started exploring some of these questions but is in the very early stages of the process. Although we have not even finalized a timeline, we are holding a public Q&A session on Wednesday, March 14 as part of our commitment to engaging the public early and often.

Come find out some of the information we have explored to date and what our next steps are. Please also come with your ideas for saving money, improving quality and/or equity, and for supporting healthy community conversations as we progress through the process.
