Local Community Activist to Speak at Rotary Event

Because of a January snowstorm, Rotary First Thursday speaker Gary King has been rescheduled to March 1, 2018, at 5:15 pm. Gary will give his address at the Fullerton Inn and talk about a wide variety of topics including the continuing development of the Disc Golf course at the Pinnacle and the recent initiatives undertaken by the Chester Conservation Committee. A group of volunteers led by Gary constructed the 9-hole disc golf course in the spring of 2017 and now have received a grant from the state to expand the course to eighteen holes. Gary will also be talking about the improvements made to the Green Mountain Union High School trail, the recently completed Butternut Hill trail and a tree and forestry canopy grant awarded to Chester.

Join us to learn about these endeavors and how they impact recreational opportunities in our community. Socializing begins at 5:15 and the program goes from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. This event is free and open to everyone. For planning purposes and if you want to be contacted in case of inclement weather, please RSVP to chestervtrotary@gmail.com.
