March 8 is International Women’s Day, a day we celebrate and honor the achievements of women past and present around the world. All are welcome to join in Burlington’s IWD Celebration on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 (“IWD Eve”) at Burlington High School, 5:30-7:30 pm. We will have delicious snacks and conversation and meet three community members being honored for their work:
Sue Gillis, Publisher of Vermont Woman;
Barbara Jordan, Fitness Guru and Advocate; and
Dolly Fleming, Executive Director of Mercy Connections.
Our Special Honoree is Tarana Burke (in absentia), the creator of #MeToo. Our Guest speaker is Robin Lloyd of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom.
