Join us in harmony. Speak out your mind, your heart, and your soul. At the open mic, you are free to express yourself in a poem, a song, spoken word or other performance. There will also be a crafts table available for anyone in an artsy-mood. This event is family friendly and open to everyone, with bread and soup provided.
In a time where this country is becoming more and more divide, we as young people feel Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy is important because he teaches us the importance of equality and how we should treat each other. We hope that this event will encourage the community to start having more conversations and be more accepting of others.
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter.”
