“BYOB” Bring your own beliefs, a community minded weekly group focus on conversations about community and current events. A weekly late lunch with a topic focused discussion aimed at understanding and progressing our understanding of the people and world around us while creating a stronger community.

How does it work?

Every week you RSVP to Johnshomecooking@gmail.com with the dish you are bringing, and 2 suggested topics of discussion. At the beginning of the potluck the weeks topics are placed in a bag and one topic is drawn. The topic is then respectfully discussed among everyone until the conversation runs in a loop or no one has anything more to constructively contribute to the conversation, then a new topic is chosen from the bag!

Foul cards! A foul card can be issued to anyone by the moderator in 2 min, 5 Min, 10 Min, or topic ban cards for a variety of reasons (good and bad), including but not limited to, off topic, overly enthusiastic or dominating conversation. A Life time ban will be awarded to anyone with abusive behavior.

Food! What you bring could be as simple or complex as you want as long as its something! Muffins, chips and dip, dry aged slow roasted prime rib, some cookies, juice, what ever! The point is to share something with someone you may not know and may have a different understanding of life as you, food is the universal language and the key to the door that opens common ground!

Come Join us and enjoy discussing current events, and community topics chosen by you!!
