As part of the Waterbury Winterfest this year, Vermont Housing & Conservation board AmeriCorps will be organizing a day of service in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Vermont Housing & Conservation Board AmeriCorps is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service that mobilizes members and volunteers from across the state of Vermont to treat MLK Day as a "day on, not a day off!" The VHCB AmeriCorps members will serve alongside residents of Waterbury, assisting the town with various service projects in the Senior Center and with the Children Literacy Foundation. Service projects will be completed in both the morning and afternoon, lunch will be served at noon in the Waterbury Area Senior Center, and the day will end with an educational snowshoe walk to honor the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington.
Please contact Cassidy Francik at cassidy@vhcb.org if you are interested in volunteering, know of a service project that could be completed on this national day of service, or would like to take part in the educational snowshoe walk!
