Dear Neighbors,
This coming Monday, the City Council will convene its first of two meetings for the month of November. Last week, on Monday, the Council held a continuation of our October 30 meeting. Our calendar includes a meeting on November 27.
We will begin our evening at 7pm with a very brief Local Control Commission meeting in Contois Auditorium. The two items on our agenda are a first class liquor license and an outdoor consumption permit for The Scuffer on Church Street. The Council meeting will begin immediately following this meeting.
Our deliberative agenda includes two indoor entertainment permits: one for the Lincoln on College Street and the other for The Scuffer. We will then have a public hearing on the Ordinance ZA18-01: planBTV: Downtown Code. This amendment has also been referred to as the Form Based Code. Following this public hearing, the Council will vote on this ordinance. This is a second reading so the vote will be to adopt the ordinance.
Our last item will be a report from the KBTL board and representatives from Ting on their discussions on the sale of Burlington Telecom. As of this posting at 5pm on Friday, the KBTL board has released a statement saying that despite the best efforts of both KBTL and Ting, they were unable to reach a consensus. The resolved clauses we passed last week on the sale will mean that a failure to reach a Ting-KBTL agreement would result in opening the process to the two other finalists, Schurz Communications and ZRF Partners.
At 7:30pm, we will begin our public forum. As with all Council meetings, please keep in mind that you are always welcome to come and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our public forum.
