New Haven's Halloween Spooktacular
“Trunk or Treat” and “Haunted Activities”
At the Congregational Church
Saturday, October 28th
5:30PM - 8:30pm

This year our town Halloween activities will be one evening, and will take place at the Congregational Church
(on Town Hill Road).
We have fun, family activities planned this year for Halloween in New Haven, but... WE NEED YOU
to help make it happen!*
We’ve been hosting a town “Trunk & Treat” here in New Haven the past few years with fantastic success,
but we always welcome more vehicle participation!
Families, singles, couples, young and young at heart, and our neighbors who live in isolated areas or the outskirts of town are all encouraged to get involved in this fun event!*

"Trunk or Treat" is kicking off our Halloween festivities from 5:30PM-6:30PM (or until the candy is gone!) at the Congregational Church.
If you have never heard of Trunk or Treat, it's great fun for all ages and the entire community,
and it works like this;
The first thing we need are people (YOU!?!)* willing to be in costume and bring their vehicle to the Congregational Church parking lot beginning at 4:00pm on Saturday, October 28th.
The cars are then decorated, and candy is put in the open trunk. Children (in costume is encouraged!) then travel from car to car and collect their treats from the decorated trunks.
It's great fun and a great way to enjoy your neighbors. Some people put on skits, others have music, but there's always a variety and imagination!
Prizes will be given for the best decorated, scariest, and interactive vehicles. All votes by People’s Choice.
Decorations and candy (NO Peanut product, please!) are the responsibility of each participant.
For safety reasons, once the participant's vehicle is parked it can not leave until 6:30pm.

Halloween Activities in the Church Basement will begin at 5:30pm until 8:30pm.
We are planning a fun evening with many wonderful activities in the downstairs “basement”
of the Congregational Church. Great decorations, activities and a Scavenger Hunt!
No actual “Haunted Church” upstairs this year due to the need for more volunteers to make it a success.
Refreshments will be available downstairs in the Church throughout the festivities.
All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. No Drop Offs, Please.

Please Note~ Church Street (the road between the Town Green and the Congregational Church)
will be closed off from Town Hill Road and South Street from 5:00pm to 9pm on the 28th.

*If you would like to be involved as a “Trunk or Treat” participant, or “Haunted Activity” helper, would like to donate decorations or candy, help decorate, or be a member of our Haunted Church Crew (building sets, props or audio technology for future Haunted Church), please contact Suzy Roorda 453-5978 or Sara Smith 877-3080.

This is a FREE EVENT, sponsored by the Town of New Haven Events Department & Congregational Church.

The Beeman School PTO will also be hosting a Family Costume Dance beginning at 6:30PM, $20 per Family,
and the Village Green Market will be serving Dinner Specials. Come pick up something Yummy for dinner to take home and eat before you head out to the festivities!

Happy Halloween!
