Learn How Rivers and Streams Work

Past event
Oct 30, 2017, 6 to 8 PM

Are you curious about how rivers and streams work? Would you like to learn about floodplains and stream corridors, flooding and erosion?

The Duxbury Planning Commission invites you to join us at the Crossett Brook Middle School on Monday, October 30, to learn more about rivers and streams, and how protecting them makes our communities more resilient.

Friends of the Winooski River and Lake Champlain Sea Grant will run a stream table demonstration in the school cafeteria from 6 pm to 8 pm. The stream table uses water and artificial soil to model how streams function in nature, and the effect of development and land management near streams.

Bring any questions you may have about streams, erosion, and flooding!
