Using BioFinder: Mapping Your Community’s Conservation Resources

Please join Cold Hollow to Canada and Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department for a free mapping workshop! This interactive training will get you using our updated, online mapping tool: BioFinder. This mapping resource helps you find the places most important for maintaining biodiversity, even as the climate changes. It includes maps of Vermont’s connected forests and waterways, locations of important ecological resources, and other information used for conservation and land use planning. By zooming in and out to different scales, BioFinder helps you see what role a local area plays in a larger context. Find the website at BioFinder.vermont.gov, and join us to learn more!

When: Thursday, September 28, 6:30-8:30pm
Where: The Belvidere Central School, 4515 VT-109 (in Belvidere Center)

Everyone is welcome, but since space is limited, please register in advance. Please email bridget@coldhollowtocanada.org to sign up or learn more. Please feel free to bring your own laptop to the workshop!

Have you used BioFinder in the past? The maps have changed! Updates include new information, a new online platform, and new, user-friendly tools. Workshops will be appropriate for first-time users or those interested in learning updates to a familiar tool.
