On Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., Lamoille Home Health & Hospice, in cooperation with SASH, will hold a Falls Prevention Workshop at the Lamoille County Civic Center (24 Main Street, Morrisville). This Workshop will be led by the Physical Therapy staff at Lamoille Home Health & Hospice and will include games, information, and individual balance assessments.
This event is one of many throughout the state coordinated by Stay Steady Vermont and the VT APTA (Vermont American Physical Therapy Association); it is timed to coincide with The National Council on Aging’s 10th annual Falls Prevention Awareness Day which will be observed on Sept. 22 this year.
Among older adults, falls are a leading cause of injuries and hospital admissions. Falls can be reduced through interventions such as a fall risk assessment by a health professional, regular physical activity, and a home assessment and modification.
For more information on the Workshop, call Maxine, SASH Coordinator at 802-730-7485.
