Thursday, August 17, at 6:30pm, Woodbury’s Merry Gangemi and Marshfield’s Samn Stockwell pair up for an evening of original poetry and delicious desserts.
Samn Stockwell’s poems have graced the pages of The New Yorker, Ploughshares, and Agni, among others, and her two books, Theater of Animals and Recital, have garnered the National Poetry Series and the Editor’s Prize at Elixir, respectively.
Merry Gangemi was a co-editor of Sinister Wisdom, producer and host of Woman-Stirred Radio, an LGBT cultural journal broadcast from WGDR in Plainfield, and former director of the Woodbury Community Library. Winner of the Audre Lorde Creative Writing Award, Gangemi’s poems and fiction have appeared in numerous publications, including Paterson Literary Review, Journal of NJ Poets, River Oak Review, and Chroma, a literary journal based in London.
