BARRE HERITAGE FESTIVAL & HOMECOMING DAYS
BARRE, VT – The Barre Partnership announce the Barre Heritage Festival & Homecoming Days, July 26th through July 30th.
During the week, diners from five of Barre’s restaurants, Cornerstone, Ladder 1 Grill, Mister Z’s, Positive Pie and the Quarry will be treated to specials that pay homage to our Scottish, Italian, Spanish, German and Quebecois heritage. Just look for the ethnic flags! Wednesday will kick off the festivities with the Summer Concert Series at Currier Park and Farmers Market. Thursday, La Soiree Sucree – A Sweet Evening of Quebecois music and desserts will be hosted by the Old Labor Hall including baking competition!
This year’s Barre Heritage Festival & Homecoming Days will have live music on four separate days culminating on Friday and Saturday, July 28th and 29th with music on City Hall Park stage and the Heritage Stage at the Barre Opera House. There will be family activities in front of Studio Place Arts with chalk drawing, face painting, bounce houses and more. The Barre Fish and Game Club will host the annual Moose Lottery along with shooting events and fishing demos. The annual heritage car show will be joined by a green car ride and drive.
Many activities including the annual Aldrich Library book sale, Lenny’s Tent Sale, and Rotary Pancake Breakfast will be contributing to the celebration and new activities including Espresso Bueno’s “Worst Song Ever” grand championship and the Quarry’s Corn Hole Tournament! The boy scouts will once again organize the popular Bath Tub Race and for the first time this year, an open mic slot on City Hall Park, Saturday morning; ever wanted to grab the mic and belt out your favorite song? There will also be an epic parade and fireworks display on Saturday.
