At this month's Open House at the Montpelier Shambhala Center we will discuss How to Prevent Burnout in Social Action. Meditation instruction will be given, we’ll practice and then a short talk will be offered, followed by a discussion, tea and snacks.
Many people engage in, want to engage in, or want to engage more in social activism. In this talk, Jason Newman will review an article by Richard Reoch entitled “The Broken Hearted Activist.” Richard explains his own path of activism, the obstacles he encounters, and the antidotes he recommends. Perhaps you will find this topic relevant to your own understanding and how you respond to what is happening in the political, social, and economic spheres in the United States and Vermont.
All are welcome! This is a free event. Donations are accepted, not required.
