Linda Fitch will discuss the origins and preservation of the Chazy Fossil Reef on Isle La Motte, as described in her book, "The Qwarriors". This 480 million year old reef was formed in the ancient Iapetus Ocean south of the equator and far to the east where Zimbabwe is today. Once the reef stretched thousands of miles across North America, but very little remains today. The Chazy Fossil Reef has been designated as a National Natural Landmark by the Dept. of the Interior.
