Hi everyone!

As some of you know, I volunteer with a local branch of an international non-profit called HOBY. Vermont's chapter is hosting its 7th annual 5k run at Saint Michael's College on Saturday June 24th, starting at 10:30 with registration at 9:30. Students $5, adults $10 to run! Water, food, and raffle prizes are also available! If you register to run, you automatically get entered for a prize, and donations are also accepted if you don't want to run but still wish to be included in the raffle. HOBY (Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership) was started by Hugh O'Brian the late actor following a life changing journey to Africa. He came back to the states and started this non-profit as a way to get new leaders involved in their community and beyond. High school sophomores are selected to represent their schools at seminars held each spring in each state and in several countries. As this is a nonprofit, the staff is comprised of volunteers. Winooski has sent two sophomores each year to attend the Vermont seminar in late May. As you may recall, I have posted about bottle drives in the past to advertise for the program and the 5k run is something that we also do each year and would like more participation in! Recent attendees who have come back to volunteer with the program at Kess Moulton and Krystian Gombosi!
