Here in Central Vermont we are very fortunate to have a first class animal rescue, shelter and adoption center: The Central Vermont Humane Society. Its facility and services are locally managed and funded, and not part of any larger network.

The Society’s most important annual fund-raiser, the Walk for Animals, will be held this Saturday morning. It is a family oriented event featuring an easy two mile walk through Montpelier, refreshments and a raffle. Family dogs (on leashes please) are the stars of the show.

Registration begins at 9:00 at Montpelier High School, with the walk beginning at 10:00.
