Please join us! On Wednesday, May 31, North Country Animal League (NCAL) will host its 23rd annual meeting.
The meeting and celebration will take place at the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe. The event begins at 5pm with the business meeting to include awards and reports from officers and staff, and the election of officers. Following the meeting, there will be a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m.
B.J. Rogers, from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), will be the keynote speaker. Rogers leads the team responsible for ASPCApro.org - the online resource supporting the work of shelters and rescues around the country. Prior to joining the ASPCA in 2011, Rogers served as the chief executive of the Humane Society of Chittenden County from 2005. Rogers has held various executive positions in human services and has worked in higher education as an instructor and researcher. He is a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator (CAWA) and a Certified Dialogue Education Teacher (CDET) with training in mediation and Appreciative Inquiry. The title of his presentation will be, “The Case for Compassion & the Evolving Role of a Modern-Day Animal Shelter.”
