Every year, the VFW Howard Plant Post 782 hosts an annual Memorial Day event in Battery Park to honor and remember those who died while serving in our country’s armed forces. The event begins at 11:00 am sharp on Monday, May 29.
The event is always moving and inspirational. It offers an opportunity to recognize those touched by our nation’s conflicts at home and abroad—to honor their sacrifices and pause to reflect upon the cost and consequences of these sacrifices for them and their families.
It has been a great privilege to attend the Memorial Day event in Battery Park, and I invite any who wish to join me and many others on Monday next week to honor those who have served our country in the armed forces, as well as their families and loved ones.
