Join us in the historic Barn House at The Clemmons Family Farm to listen to author Donna Sherard read from her new children's book, "The Splendiferous Adventures of Ryan Odongo". The story is about a bicultural ‘tween. Ryan, who reluctantly travels from the United States to Kenya with his family on vacation. Soon after they arrive in a struggling Swahili beach town, Ryan realizes that saving a new friend from catastrophe is solely up to him. The clock is ticking and in order to prevent disaster, Ryan has to go on the adventure of his life and bravely come to face who he really is – his heritage and all of his quirks!

African American Donna Sherard lives in Silver Spring, Maryland in the United States with her Kenyan-American husband and their son Ryan. For the past fifteen years she has worked in international health and development, which has allowed her to travel the globe including Kenya and Uganda where she lived and worked. It wasn't until her son started looking for his own superheroes that she was compelled to write for children and especially for those yearning for books that they can call home. Splendiferous is her first novel.
