Screening of “The Healthcare Movie.” Ilsley Library, Middlebury, Thursday, May 25th, 7 PM.
This documentary tells the story of how the Canadian and U.S. healthcare systems, which originally had much in common, evolved very differently: Canada would go on to establish universal healthcare whereas the United States did not. The screening will be followed by a discussion led by Deb Richter, M.D., focusing on the film's relevance for Vermont. Dr. Richter, a primary care practitioner and addiction medicine specialist from Montpelier, VT is President of Vermont Health Care for All and is a former President of Physicians for a National Health Program.
(Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Vermont, Vermont Health Care for All, the Vermont State Labor Council, AFL-CIO, and Vermont Physicians for a National Health Program)
