Green Up & Town Projects Day May 6
Green Up Day is almost here - and we need to rally and clean up the roadsides of our town!
Details: 8:30-1:30 on Saturday (plan to bring back your bags by 1:30 pm), stop by the Huntington Town Garage and pick up a green bag and a road assignment - and some snacks, courtesy of the Selectboard. Huntington Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will be there to help unload your bags into the town trucks, courtesy of the Road Crew. It is a good idea to wear work gloves, if you have them. And, of course, don't forget the sunscreen!

If you want to get your favorite specific road, call the Town Clerk's Office before Friday (2032). You can also pick up bags this week (courtesy of the Town Clerk's Office) and bound out of bed on Saturday to start early and then get on with your day.

Town Projects: If pick up trash is something you aren't able to do, there are a number of other projects around town, requiring a variety of skills.

Brewster-Pierce School:
Raking wood chips under the playground equipment
Weeding the hosta plants along the sidewalk
Weeding the flower bed in the circle
Scraping the paint on the west wall of the garage
Repairing picnic tables ***
Staining the garden bench (linseed oil)

Huntington Public Library:
Painting trim outside
Painting trim inside
Sand and oil garden bench

Contact the Library (434-4583) or the school (434-2074) to get details.

Bottles: Finally, feel free to drop off your returnable bottles and cans on Saturday when you bring your Green-Up bags to the Town Garage - the scouts are having a bottle drive and this is an easy way to contribute.
