The UVM Extension Central Vermont Master Gardeners will be hosting a three part lecture series on the tiny creatures we rely on to propagate our plants each year: the pollinators. Join us for three evenings of informative lecture, lively discussion, & bird-friendly coffee!

Bumblebees Thursday, November 7, 7:00 p.m. -- North Branch Nature Center, Montpelier Fee: $5 donation welcomed!

Many of Vermont ’s bumblebees have been disappearing over the past few decades, and some have vanished all together. We’ll learn about the role bumblebees play in our ecosystem, where they have gone, and receive an update about their current status.

Monarch Butterflies Thursday, November 14, 7:00 p.m. - North Branch Nature Center, Montpelier Fee: $5 donation welcomed!

Like too many creatures, the iconic Monarch butterfly has seen precipitous declines in recent decades. Learn about the unbelievable life history of the Monarch and hear the latest research into Monarch biology and population status.

Planting for Pollinators with Charlie Nardozzi Thursday, November 21, 7:00 p.m.

at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier (130 Main St.) Fee: $5 donation welcomed!

Learn about the best ways to attract and support pollinators in your landscape by planting the right plants. We'll cover a variety of trees, shrubs, flowers and herbs that are beneficial for pollinators to survive and learn the best ways to grow them.
