The Waterbury-Duxbury Odyssey of the Mind teams are planning a bottle drive for Saturday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Thatcher Brook Primary School front parking lot loop. Plan to drop off your 5-cent returnables to support our extracurricular creative problem-solving program. In addition, several large blue barrels are outside at Crossett Brook Middle School now to collect returnables before the 29th.

Six teams with Crossett Brook and Thatcher Brook students in grades 1-8 recently competed and finished at the top of their categories at the state OM tournament last month. Two teams are headed to the OM World Finals at Michigan State University May 24-27. The program is funded exclusively through fundraising and family contributions.

The drive will have limited ability to pick up returnables. If you have a large quantity of bottles and cans to contribute and cannot make it on the 29th, please email Lisa Scagliotti to make arrangements. lscagliotti@comcast.net
