Meditation Workshop

Past event
Mar 25, 2017, 8 to 11:30 AM

The Charlotte Congregational Church is sponsoring the workshop "An Introduction to Centering Prayer" this Saturday morning. Centering Prayer is a very simple meditation technique rooted in the Christian tradition. There are but two requirements: 1. Be able to sit in a chair for 20 minutes and 2. Have some curiosity about your inner life. That's it.
Mark Kutolowski, our instructor, is a certified trainer with hundreds of hours of experience.
We will start gathering in the vestry next to the church at 8am for snacks and drinks to start promptly at 8:30. We finish at 11:30. The workshop includes two meditation periods with the instructions so there is the opportunity for a solid foundation. Those who wish to may bring a brown bag for a half hour lunch break. At noon we will continue with an optional hour learning Welcoming Prayer, a related technique.
The workshop is free. We will have a basket out for donations but please don't let the money question keep you away.
Perhaps you have never meditated and wonder what it's like? Perhaps you learned how in another traditional years ago and are feeling a little niggle now and then to take it up again? Perhaps you are experienced and would like to meet some new people? Whoever you are, you are welcome. Please let me know if you are coming. You can reach me by email or call or text to 808-386-3644.
