Maple Sugar Open House Sat. - Sun.

Past event
Mar 25, 10 AM to 2 PM, Mar 26, 2017

Brookfield Bees is part of the Vermont Maple Sugar Makers Association Open House tour this year. We will be open on Saturday March 25 and Sunday March 26 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM for visitors who want to check out how maple syrup is made. We collect from both buckets and tubing and boil on a wood fired arch. There is no vacuum, no automatic drawoff and no RO. Just good old fashioned Vermont maple syrup. On your way just up the road you can stop at the Fat Toad Farm store (787 Kibbee Rd) and pick up some of their award-winning caramel. Snacks and hot mulled cider are complimentary for visitors who make it.
If you come, make sure your car has at least all wheel drive, as our roads get pretty muddy. From Exit 4 of I-89 follow Rt 66 East for about a mile. Turn left onto Ridge Road. Go 1.3 miles to N. Randolph Road and turn right. Go 1.8 miles to Curtis Road at Neighborly Farms and turn left. Go 1 mile to 1148 Kibbee Road and turn Right. Go 1.1 miles (bearing right at Y after Fat Toad Farm) and look for Brookfield Bees sign. We are on a dirt road, so 4 wheel or all wheel drive is a necessity.
