The PBS Film Series presents MAKER'S Women in Comedy at Manchester Community Library. VPR radio reporter and producer and standup comedian Annie Russell, with fellow standup comedians Jessie Baade, Hillary Boone, Bitsy Biron, will lead a discussion of the film and provide highlights from their standup routines for the audience.

In the one hour film, contemporary comics, including Chelsea Handler, Margaret Cho, Mo’Nique, Sarah Silverman, Joan Rivers, Ellen DeGeneres, Jane Lynch and Kathy Griffin, talk about where women started in this competitive, male-dominated profession and where they are determined to go. The film is narrated by Leslie Mann.

Annie Russell, with fellow comedians will share their thoughts on the film, drawing on their personal experiences, and also offer up highlights of their standup comedy routines.
