Join us at the Bixby Library to hear Vermont author Jack Mayer as he reads from his historical fiction novel "Before the Court of Heaven" and explores the origins of the Third Reich. His acclaimed novel tells the story of Ernst Werner Techow, who was recruited into a clandestine assassination network trying to bring down the fledgling Weimar democracy.

About the presenter
Jack Mayer, a Vermont writer and pediatrician, is the author of numerous short stories, poems, essays, and two award-winning books. Bixby has copies of both "Life in a Jar," Jack's first book, and his newly released "Before the Court of Heaven."
