What: Public Informational Forum on Stormwater cost distribution
When: Monday, March 6, 2017 at around 8:00 p.m. (time is approximate)
Where: Williston Central School auditorium
The Selectboard would like your input regarding how to fairly and equitably distribute costs to bring homeowner association and individual neighborhood stormwater systems with expired state stormwater permit into compliance with current state standards. Representatives from some neighborhoods, are requesting the Town contribute towards the cost of building or repairing their systems. The Selectboard encourages comments on this matter as they work to find a fair and equitable solution.

The central question which the Selectboard must decide is:
Should the town require homeowner’s associations with expired state stormwater permit to pay 100% of the cost of needed improvements and in exchange the town will take over ownership of their system and pay for future maintenance costs and upgrades?

If the Board decides this question in the affirmative, no changes are needed as part of the current program. If the Board decides in the negative, other questions will need to be answered and perhaps other public meetings will be required to discuss various issues raised as part of a revised program approach.
