The third and final public information session for the the proposed 2017-18 Mount Mansfield Modified Union School District budget (including the Chittenden East Supervisory Union budgets) is scheduled for 6:30 PM Thursday March 2nd at Browns River Middle School.
The school board and administration continuously strive to improve the quality and delivery of education while optimizing taxpayer dollars. Based on preliminary guidance from the State and subject to further legislative action, and prior to the Common Level of Appraisal unique to each town each year, this budget's estimated impact on our local property taxes is:
Decrease by 0.77% in Richmond, Jericho, and Underhill
Decrease by 3.7% in Bolton (and be the same as Richmond, Underhill, and Jericho in future years)
Increase by 0.5% in Huntington (Huntington’s rate includes Brewster Pierce)
Budget highlights include:
Educational Spending per equalized pupil increase of 1.77%
Overall budget increase of 2.45%
