From the Ground Up - Farms & Food Enhance Community

"From the Ground Up 2017," a biennial program focused on farm, food, and community, will take place at the Manchester Community Library on Saturday Feb. 25. This event is a partnership of the Library, Northshire Grows, Someday Farm, and the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont. This event is FREE but requires advance registration.
Speakers include Jake Claro, Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund's Farm to Plate Network Program Manager; Philip Ackerman-Leist, Professor of Sustainable Agriculture at Green Mountain College; Dale Coppin, President of Grateful Hearts; Jesse Pyles, Executive Director of Smokey House Center; Liz Ruffa of Northshire Grows; Scout Proft and Maria Reade of Someday Farm. Participants will have a chance to discuss actionable steps stemming from the presentations. Earth Sky Time will cater a lunch of locally grown foods; $5 donation encouraged to defray the cost. The program will run from 10 am - 3 pm, and advance registration is required.
