The Champlain Consort performs Renaissance and Elizabethan music on period instruments such as recorders, sackbuts (Renaissance trombones), viola da gamba, capped reeds, and percussion, recreating the distinctive sound of English and European Renaissance music.
This program features Renaissance romance songs in celebration of Valentine's Day, works by Heinrich Isaac (1450 - 1517) in recognition of the 500th anniversary of his passing, and several medieval instrumental pieces.
