The Barre Town Thunder Chickens Snowmobile Club, along with the Mercy Family is hosting the 17th annual Travis Mercy Skate Park Fundraiser – Saturday Feb 4th. Event consist of a snowmobile Poker Run, Quilt Raffle, Silent Auction and Meal catered by Randy Henry and the Racing Chefs. Poker hands are also available at the door if you aren’t participating in the snowmobile ride for $5. Meal is $10 for adults, $5 kids 12 and under, free for kids under five years old. To date this event has raised approx. $50, 000 that has been donated to the Town of Barre for use at the park. Monies have been used toward building new ramps, resurfacing, water fountain, general upkeep and hosting learn to skate and day camps. We are currently working with David Wood of Talent Skate Shop whom designed the initial park, to build us a new concrete street plaza feature. Event is held at Barre Town School Dining Hall - silent auction viewing/bidding begins around 11:30 and we are shooting for the meal to be served at 12:30 wrapping up around 2:00.

Proceeds benefit the skate park in Travis’s name located at the Town of Barre Recreation Facilities behind Barre Town School. Come on out and join the snowmobile community and family & friends of the park in support of our efforts.

Silent Auction donations include items from VT Teddy Bear, Magic Hat, Alchemist, Jay Peak, Burke, Sugarbush, Killington, Cabot, Barre Electric, local restaurants and businesses, Red Sox tickets and many more items including autographed loot from Jordan Maxham (Pro Skater) whom got his start right here in East Barre skating with Travis Mercy.

Poker Run leaves VT Travel Center at 9:00 (register between 8:15-9:00) – Alternately you can ride/drive direct to the event at Barre Town School. We expect to land at the school for noonish.
