CELEBRATE PUPPETS & PLAYGROUNDS AT THATCHER BROOK, FEB 8 @ 6 P.M.

Several classes have been working this year on plans to renovate the school's natural playground; which is sadly in need of work. They've studied, mapped and surveyed their classmates, and come up with ideas aplenty! Students will present their findings to the community with an original puppet show (featuring puppets they made, and a song they wrote) on Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. at the school. Come support them with your presence, and support the playground work with your donations! (Seats are limited, though, so click here and tell us how many are coming.

This project was inspired by the Community Engagement Lab, which has involved teachers around the state in collaborative projects with each other and with teaching artists. Thatcher Brook feels incredibly lucky to have been paired with Barbara Paulson of the acclaimed No Strings Marionette Co. of Randolph, VT.

The excitement continues on April 7 when Grammy award-winning superstar guitarist John Jorgensen accompanies Thatcher Brook Students in "The Playground Song," at Spruce Peak Performing Arts. (The kids will appear on stage with their puppets, too). Save the date!
