Construction is now underway at Champlain College's Eagles Landing! We are celebrating this exciting milestone with a brief groundbreaking event, and welcome interested neighbors to join us.
What: Champlain College's Eagles Landing Groundbreaking Event
When: Monday, Jan. 23, 1:00 p.m.
Where: Eagles Landing site, Browns Court Drive, corner of St. Paul Street and King Street
Why: Champlain College and the City of Burlington are celebrating the construction start of the new $36 million Eagles Landing student housing project at the location of the former Eagles Club and the former city-owned Browns Court parking lot. The mixed-use, six-level complex will be located along St. Paul Street between Maple and King Streets, and will contain 105 apartments for 314 Champlain students, along with 5,200 square feet of street-level retail space and 66 parking spaces available to the public. The project is slated for completion in late summer of 2018.
Who: Champlain President Donald J. Laackman and Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger will be on hand to talk about this new student housing development in downtown Burlington. H.P. Cummings is the construction manager for the project and most recently worked with Champlain College to build the Center for Communication and Creative Media that opened in August 2015. The architect is Gardner Kilcoyne Architects of Williston.
