DAVID FRANCEY - JAN. 15 - LIMITED TICKETS
We've received ticket orders from Ottawa, New Hampshire, Montreal, Brattleboro, Massachusetts and the local area for this Sunday's David Francey (http://www.valleystage.net/pm-sundays-artists/david-francey.html) concert taking place at the Richmond Congregational Church; 20 Church St., Richmond, beginning at 4:00 p.m. This being David's only northeast U.S. performance this time through, it's becoming evident that his fans are willing to travel the distance to catch him even if it means driving 2+ hours each way. Tickets are selling briskly. The show may sell out.
Three time Juno and Canadian Folk Music Award winner, David, is a Scottish-born Canadian carpenter-turned-songwriter, who has become known as “one of Canada’s most revered folk poets and singers”.
Born in Ayrshire, Scotland to parents who were factory workers, he moved to Canada when he was twelve. For decades, he worked across Canada in rail yards, construction sites, and in the Yukon bush, all the while writing poetry, setting to melodies in his head and singing it to himself as he worked.
