"I think a young leader is someone who helps and guides others."
SB Mentoring, the school-based mentoring program of the South Burlington School District, will celebrate its 60 mentors and their commitment to honoring the young leaders in the program with a Winter Gala Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday, January 14, 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Frederick H. Tuttle Middle School. The event will also celebrate January as National Mentoring Month.
WCAX reporter and SB Mentoring mentor Eva McKend will host the event, while Roddy O’Neil Cleary, former mentor and local social advocate, will be the keynote speaker.
A dinner featuring exciting new menu items, proudly prepared with local and regionally sourced ingredients by the SBSD Nutritional Services Staff, and local business donations for the silent auction will round out the evening.
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $15 with all proceeds supporting materials for mentors and young leaders in the program.
For further information and to purchase tickets, please contact Healthy Schools Coordinator Susie Merrick at smerrick@sbschools.net or 652-7035.
