The Hogback Ski Area closed in 1986, but skiing is still alive and well on Hogback. You have to use muscle power to get to the top, but once there, gravity works just as well as ever to take you back down.

Volunteers are needed to help us get ready for winter! On the Friday after Thanksgiving we're going to be patrolling the ski-able lines in the former ski area, clearing blowdowns and trimming encroaching side branches.

Meet at 1:00pm in the parking lot on the south side of Route 9 just west of the gift shop. We need chain saws, brush cutters, loppers and people to haul brush off the trails. No experience necessary; tools and safety gear provided.
