Friends of Music at Guilford's 46th Annual Community Messiah Sing will be from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, December 3, in the Sanctuary of Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro. Friends of Music provides the conductor, organist, trumpeter, and four soloists; 200-250 folks from the Tri-State area come to sing the choruses of Handel's masterwork, and another 20-30 come just to hear this grand choir. This year's performers are Elizabeth Wohl, soprano; Evelyn McLean, alto; James Anderson, tenor; Cailin Marcel Manson, baritone; Joyana Damon, trumpet; and William McKim, organ; Anthony Speranza is choral conductor. All door donations are given to Groundworks Collaborative for its shelter and food programs at holiday time. Bring your own score or borrow/buy one at the door. Attendees and downtown shoppers are also welcome to bring nonperishable foods, winter clothing and outerwear, blankets, and new toys for the cause. Only bottled water is allowed in the Sanctuary and is also for sale at the door. The FOMAG boutique offers cards, totes, and CDs for gift-giving.
