Peaceful Brattleboro Area marchers, in concert with local elected officials and more than 250 nationwide marches, remind Washington elites and all Americans that every person deserves a life free from fear.

WHEN: Saturday, January 18, 2025, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST

WHERE: From Preston Lot, Flat St., north on Main Street and end at the Common, Park Place, Brattleboro, Vermont.

WHY: There's a lot at stake. Concerns about the handling of human rights by the incoming administration spark the need to productively engage with our fellows in town, in Vermont and across the nation. Together, as part of The Peoples March, we will work towards equitable, compassionate solutions and mutual encouragement.

On Jan. 18, local concerned citizens will peacefully march on Brattleboro sidewalks from Flat Street to the Common to unite people in solidarity as humans, as immigrants, as LGBTQIA+ individuals, as BIPOC communities, as allies. Carrying signs such as "Healthcare for All" and "Democracy!" they will march to remind civil servants that they answer to their constituents.
On the Common, elected officials and area residents will gather for speeches supporting resilience and justice in our communities and to inspire, energize, and drive change long after this march is done.
If you believe that decisions about your body should remain yours, that books belong in libraries, not on bonfires; that healthcare is a right, not a privilege for the wealthy; if you believe in the power of free speech and protest to sustain democracy; or if you want an economy that works for the people who power it—bring your voice, your strength, your unbreakable spirit. Power truly lives with the people. We will resist. We will persist. We continue to organize. Together, we will ensure hatred has no power.
