Greetings: I am a new Front Porch member and Dummerston's representative on the Act 46 Study Committee. I wanted to let everyone know about this first information session for the Dummerston community by the WSESU Act 46 Study Committee. There will be others in the coming months as well. The WSESU ACT 46 Study Committee invites you to learn about Educating Our Kids Together: The Communities of Brattleboro, Guilford, Dummerston and Putney

The evening will start with a presentation about Equity by Stephan Morse, Chairman of the Vermont State Board of Education.

Formed in October 2015, your Act 46 WSESU Study Committee has worked to craft a plan that supports all of our local schools. This plan fulfills the requirements of the education law Act 46 by:
- offering substantial equity in the quality and variety of educational opportunities,
- ensuring that students achieve or exceed the VT Education Quality Standards,
- maximizing operational efficiency,
- promoting transparency and accountability, and
- delivering public education at a cost that parents, voters and taxpayers value.
Please attend to learn how our communities can work together to educate all our children. Your informed VOTE on this in December 2016 and March 2017 will determine how our communities move forward under the Act 46 education law.
